Our Traditional Bread
How it’s made:
Whatever type of bread you buy from us,
it’ll have been made and baked using the techniques handed down through three
generations of the Leyland Family. After the initial mixing of the dough which
is done with the aid of a mixing machine, each loaf and each teacake is thereafter
expertly hand prepared by Steve and manually seen into and out of the proving
process and then the oven.
The taste, texture and quality is independent and
exceptional and far removed from the bland, rubbery and mechanically mass
produced products offered in supermarkets and chain shops.

quality products.
Compare:
Take a typical sliced loaf which you may
buy from the local grocers or supermarket and make a sandwich.
Then take one of our fresh, same-day home baked
loaves, cut of a couple of slices by hand and make another sandwich.
The one made with our bread will taste better, will
fill you better and leave you wanting more!
One thought:
Bread is the staff of life: It’s been made by hand and
has supported billions of people for thousands of years. Mechanised processes
have only really come to the fore and worsened its quality and taste over the
past 50 years. There’s still time to save the traditional loaf. True baking
skills are being lost rapidly: Return to tradition, help save the skills and
savour the taste!
